- Infections of the lower respiratory tract such as acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis and community acquired pneumonia. - Infections of the upper respiratory tract such as sinusitis and pharyngitis. - Skin infections and soft tissue infections of mild to moderate severity. - In appropriate combination with antibacterial therapeutic regimes and an appropriate ulcer healing agent for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with Helicobacter pylori associated ulcers. Consideration should be given to official guidance on the appropriate use of antibacterial agents. Patients suffering from acute coronary syndrome: - Non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (unstable angina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction), including patients undergoing a stent placement following percutaneous coronary intervention, in combination with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA). - ST segment elevation acute myocardial infarction, in combination with ASA in medically treated patients eligible for thrombolytic therapy.
